Bobcat Baseball Swept in Double Header with Logan
The Frontier Bobcats were swept in Saturday’s doubleheader with John A. Logan 7-4 in game 1 and 11-4 in game 2.
In game 1, the Vols made Owen Byberg work as it took nearly 90 pitches in just 3 innings. The Logan offense scored 4 in the 2nd on grand slam and added another run in the 4th to make it 5-1. The Bobcats had back-to-back homers from Bryce Humphrey and Grant Nokes to make it a 5-4 game. Logan added 2 more in the top of the 5th to make it 7-4. Byberg was tagged with the loss as he gave up 5 runs in the contest.
In game 2, Aric Ehmke pitched 6 innings. The Bobcats had a 2-1 lead after 5, but 3 defensive errors gave John A. Logan the lead for good. The Bobcats scratched a run across in the bottom of the 6th to make it 4-3, but Logan put up a 7 spot in the 7th to put the game out of reach. Ehmke was saddled with the loss as he gave up just one earned run in the game.
