Wayne City Baseball Falls to Woodlawn

The Woodlawn Cardinals knocked off Wayne City in MTC Tournament play in baseball by a final of 3-1.
Wayne City jumped to an early 1-0 lead on Dawson Wood sacrifice fly to center. That lead held until the bottom of the 4th when Woodlawn tied the game. The Cardinals pushed across a pair of runs in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead for good. Wayne City did get the tying run to the plate, but a groundout, groundout, and strikeout ended the game.
Wayne City is now 1-11 on the year. Woodlawn will play Cisne this afternoon in MTC tournament play at Cisne.
