Many Fire Crews Called to Norris City

Fairfield City and Fairfield Rural Fire as well as several other crews were called to a major fire at Bond’s Lumber and Hardware, located behind Doug’s gas’s station in Norris City Sunday Evening. The fire was a 15-alarm fire with crews called out around 9 PM initially. Crews returned to the Fairfield area late in the evening.

No injuries were reported. The fire completely destroyed the business. Fire officials say that the fire started at the rear of the building. The Illinois State Fire Marshall is investigating the fire.
