Python in Sims Accounted For

A few weeks ago, officials in Sims and at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department reported about 3 python snakes being loose in the Sims area. Initially, crews captured a pair of snakes, but one was still on the loose.

As of 8:45 this morning, Wayne County Now learned the officials were going back out to the Sims area to verify that they found the third python. Officials tell Wayne County Now that the third python was found. According to sheriff’s deputies, the python was ran over by a train. After consulting a veterinarian, officials euthanized the snake. According to deputies, the snake measures 17 feet in length.
