Police say a motorcyclist was killed in a crash near Naperville

A motorcyclist was killed in a west suburban crash Thursday night, according to police.

Naperville police and firefighters responded to the crash at Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard shortly after 9:30 p.m.

A 26-year-old Woodridge man was driving a blue 2024 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Chicago Avenue at high speed when he entered the intersection at Naper Boulevard on a green light, according to police.

The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of a 2024 VinFast sports utility vehicle as it turned left from westbound Maple Avenue to southbound Naper Boulevard.

The motorcyclist, Dante Fields, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is under investigation.

The Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit asked anyone with information to call them at 630-420-8833.
