A man who had been missing for nearly two days was discovered alive by a jogger, police said Wednesday.
Adam Gerber, 54, was last seen around 11:30 p.m. Monday, near Arlington Heights and Lake Cook roads. His vehicle was discovered there.
The search led police to the Buffalo Creek Forest Preserve in Long Grove. Chopper 7 flew over a large police presence around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to police, a jogger near Nichols Road and Highland Avenue discovered a man in distress and called 911 around 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
First responders identified the man as Gerber and transported him to an area hospital.
Police said he has since been reunited with his family.
