Theft of bicycles in Oswego one person apprehended, one on the loose

According to Oswego police, one suspect in a felony retail theft has been arrested, but the second remains at large.

Marcello Esquivel-Medina, 37, of Aurora, is accused of stealing bicycles from the Dick’s Sporting Goods store in the 2400 block of Route 34 early Friday morning, according to police.

Officers were dispatched around 10 a.m. to a retail theft in progress involving two men stealing bicycles. Esquivel-Medina was located and discovered to be in possession of two bikes. A subsequent search of his Aurora home revealed two additional bicycles reported stolen earlier.

The second suspect has not yet been found.

Esquivel-Medina was charged with burglary and felony retail theft.
