A Tennessee woman is accused of taking the eviction process into her own hands when she wanted to remove a family from her flat.

Court records show that Ervyana Davis, 23, is charged with two counts of felony child abuse and one count of misdemeanour. She is still in the Davidson County Jail in Nashville on a $37,000 bond as of Sunday morning.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by local Fox affiliate WZTV, Davis attempted to evict a family, including a 4-year-old child, from her Nashville-area flat, but they refused to leave. Davis attempted to have cops intervene, but they referred her to the civil eviction process, the warrant stated.

Instead of following the proper procedure, Davis allegedly went to the store and purchased bug foggers. On Wednesday, she reportedly placed five to 16 of the foggers and released them while the family was still inside.

According to the warrant, the child began coughing, had difficulty breathing, and had to be transported to the hospital for treatment. There were no reports of additional injuries.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, no one should be inside a house or flat once the fogger has been released. People should stay out of their homes for at least two to four hours after it is released. The EPA stated that one bug fogger is usually enough for a 25-by-25-foot room.

“Breathing spray mist could be harmful. The EPA states that in order to use these products safely, everyone, including pets, must leave the treated area and close the doors after the foggers have been released.

Davis was arrested on Thursday. Her next court date is set for Monday. Court documents showed that she did not have a lawyer.
