The parents of a 16-year-old boy have spoken out after he was discovered dead on local train tracks.
Joshua Myers and another 16-year-old boy were discovered dead on the tracks at Poyton railway station in Cheshire, England, at 10 p.m. local time on Thursday, July 3, according to the British Transport Police (BTP), per the BBC.
Both boys were pronounced dead on the scene, and neither is being investigated as suspicious at this time, according to the outlet. The identity of the second teen has not yet been revealed.
In a statement obtained by the BBC, Joshua’s parents described their son as “thoughtful, kind, bright, and intelligent,” as well as “the best big brother ever.”
“He had no idea how loved he was,” they went on. “Our hearts are broken, and the world feels incomplete without him. “He will live on in our hearts forever.”
Joshua’s parents also stated that he liked computer games, running, and badminton, and that his “favourite days” were spent relaxing on vacation with his family, “bodyboarding, swimming, and looking after his younger siblings.”
According to the Manchester Evening News, flower bouquets were placed at Poynton station the morning after the tragic incident in memory of the two teens.
According to the outlet, police were seen searching nearby woods on Friday, July 4, in response to the incident.
PEOPLE contacted the British Transport Police and Cheshire Police for comment on Sunday, July 6, but did not receive an immediate response.
