A Florida man is in jail after police say he tied up his friend, held him at his home, and robbed his bank account.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Nicholas Flores, 32, on charges of robbery, kidnapping, and possession of a controlled substance via Facebook.

According to police, Flores met with a friend to discuss the latter man’s purchase of a PlayStation 5. The friend, who was not identified by police, visited Flores’ home on Monday. While there, Flores allegedly grabbed a machete and choked the other man until he was unconscious. When the friend awoke, his wrists and legs were allegedly bound with zip ties and duct tape.

Flores had left his friend while he conducted several bank transactions, withdrawing funds from his friend’s account and depositing them into his own.

According to police, Flores allegedly kept his friend at home for hours. The friend was finally able to escape the next morning, while Flores was sleeping.

The friend was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police executed a search warrant at Flores’ home and discovered the same materials allegedly used to restrain his friend, as well as cocaine and methamphetamine. Flores was arrested at his home and charged with robbery, kidnapping, and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the Fort Meyers News-Press, Flores is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 11.
