COOK COUNTY – Police in Palos Park are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a pickup truck that hit a 14-year-old boy Monday night and then fled the scene.
The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. on the 12700 block of 80th Avenue.
According to Palos Park police, the boy was crossing an intersection on his e-bike when he was struck by a pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150.
Police say the driver briefly pulled over before driving away. It is unclear how severe the teen’s injuries are.
Next steps: Palos Park investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby cameras and searching for the vehicle and driver.
