A sycamore man is charged with using a cord to assault a somebody over 60

DEKALB COUNTY, Ill. – A 55-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly strangling someone with a cord, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Cohen of Sycamore faces two counts of domestic battery, aggravated domestic battery, and aggravated battery.

Just before 7 p.m. on July 1, deputies were dispatched to the 21000 block of Somonauk Road for a report of a domestic dispute. Deputies say they discovered Cohen had attacked and strangled someone over the age of 60 with a cord.

Investigators have not revealed the victim’s condition.

Cohen was arrested and transported to the DeKalb County Jail. He is expected to make his first court appearance on July 2.
