A food ingredient manufacturing company caught fire Thursday morning in the south suburbs, according to video from Chopper 7.
The fire began shortly after 6 a.m., near 65th Street and Archer Avenue in Bedford Park.
The plant is called Ingredion, and it manufactures food ingredients, according to a spokesperson.
According to a company spokesperson, one employee was injured and is expected to be released from the hospital soon.
A company spokesperson stated that the fire was mechanical.
Bedford Park officials stated that the fire was contained to the factory. The fire was extinguished by 9:30 a.m.
Workers are seen on video standing outside while crews work on the fire.
No traffic was affected.
It is unknown what started the fire.
