An investigation is underway after a person was discovered dead on Tuesday morning near an intersection in unincorporated Woodstock.
Just after 9 a.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was dispatched to the intersection of Route 14 and Hughes Road, where there are only a few houses and businesses.
Chopper 7 flew over the scene.
Authorities report that the victim appeared to have been shot.
As part of their efforts to identify her, the police are conducting an autopsy.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices are conducting an investigation.
