It is a weekend for new businesses in downtown Naperville, with Birkenstock and George & Fred welcoming customers and Gorjana set to open early next week.

Birkenstock coming to downtown Naperville

Birkenstock, a German-based footwear store, will open at 20 W. Jefferson Ave. on Saturday, June 21, at 10 a.m., according to a downtown Naperville social media post.

The company is known for its sandals, clogs, and shoes with an anatomically shaped footbed. There are approximately ten Birkenstock stores in the United States, with the Naperville location serving as the only one in Illinois.

George & Fred opening on South Main Street

George & Fred, a jewelry and home decor boutique on the second floor of 216 South Main Street, will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The woman-owned independent shop will sell semi-fine jewelry, home goods, and unique treasures handpicked or crafted by the owner in Naperville.

George & Fred is dedicated to celebrating creators, craftsmanship, and jewelry that makes customers “feel extraordinary.”

Gorjana opening next week

According to the downtown Naperville website, a Gorjana jewelry store will open next Monday, June 23, at 50 South Main Street.

Gorjana, founded in California, sells necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings in a wide range of styles and materials. Gorjana currently has four locations in Illinois, according to the company’s website.

Coming soon to downtown Naperville

Le Macaron (23 W. Jefferson Ave.) is a French pastry shop, while Alo Yoga (21 W. Jefferson Ave.) offers activewear for yoga and athleisure.

Pronto Italian Sandwiches, 221 S Washington St. is an Italian sandwich shop.

U Sushi Club Rotary Sushi Bar, 175 W. Jackson Ave., is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant.

The White Sheep, 22 E. Chicago Ave. is a breakfast and brunch restaurant.
