Texas police are investigating a possible murder-suicide in Harris County. A man allegedly shot and killed his wife and young son before shooting himself. He was taken to the hospital but later died.
Authorities are still investigating what prompted the man to allegedly commit the crimes, but it appears that he had been experiencing some difficulties.
It may have pushed him to have a breakdown. Other people were reportedly present at the time of the incident, but they were unharmed.
Ed Gonzalez, the Harris County Sheriff, took to social media to discuss the incident. On Saturday, June 7, members of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in Katy, Texas. When they arrived, the woman and child had already died.
A man was flown to the hospital. “Based on my initial observations, this appears to be a double murder/suicide (attempt). “All information is preliminary,” the post stated.
In an update, Gonzalez stated that the man was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
A second update arrived after the investigation had begun. Gonzalez provided additional information, such as the man’s age of 42 and his wife’s age of 43, as well as a correction to the boy’s age from 2 to 7. He also stated that the gun used was discovered at the scene.
Gonzalez stated at a press conference that the man may have had mental health issues, such as depression. “Lately, the adult male had apparently been without a job and going through some other issues and had possibly sought some treatment recently,” he told me.
Fox 26 According to Houston police, a 19-year-old woman, believed to be the deceased couple’s daughter, was present during the shooting. Her boyfriend was also with her. Neither was injured. So far, the identities of those killed have not been revealed.
