In an exciting conclusion, Carolina Chaos overcome California Redwoods

The Carolina Chaos defeated the California Redwoods 12-10 on Saturday night at Northwestern Medicine Field in Evanston, Illinois. Carolina’s record improved to 4-2, while California dropped to 3-3.

Ross Scott led the Chaos offense with four points, including three goals and one assist. Owen Hiltz also contributed with two goals and two assists. Blaze Riorden was outstanding in goal, making 18 saves to keep his team competitive throughout the game.

Dylan Molloy led the Redwoods with two goals, including a power-play goal late in the fourth quarter, and Romar Dennis added a long-range shot for a two-pointer early on. Chris Kavanagh scored three points (one goal and two assists).

Despite leading for the majority of the game thanks to strong performances by Dennis and Molloy, California struggled offensively after halftime. Rookie Andrew McAdorey scored an unassisted goal late in the game, but it was insufficient to propel his team forward.

Carolina’s comeback began midway through the third quarter, when Hiltz scored two consecutive goals to tie the game at 9-9. Justin Inacio capped off an impressive performance by scoring his only goal, giving Carolina its first lead of 10-9. However, the Chaos needed two of Scott’s late goals to seal the victory.

The Carolina Chaos face the Utah Archers on Friday at 9 p.m. ET in Fairfield, Connecticut. The game will air on ESPN2 and ESPN+. Earlier, at 6:30 p.m. ET, the California Redwoods will face the New York Atlas, with ESPN+ providing the exclusive coverage.
