INDIANA – Indiana Conservation Officers reported that a father and son from the Chicago area drowned in Lake Michigan on Saturday.
On Saturday at 4:20 p.m., Indiana Conservation Officers and National Park Rangers responded to reports of a water rescue on Lake Michigan near Dune Acres.
When officers arrived, two men had been pulled from the water by a passerby. Officers administered CPR and transported the victims to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
They were identified as David Meneou, 65, of Joliet, and Jameson Meneou, 20, of Lockport, Illinois.
An investigation revealed that Jameson entered deep water and began to struggle. David attempted to save his son, but he also began to struggle.
The incident is still being investigated.
