Metra BNSF trains resumed service Friday evening, after being disrupted in parts of the west suburbs due to a semi being hit by a freight train.
Around 1:52 p.m., a freight train collided with a semi at the La Grange Road crossing near a La Grange station, according to Metra officials.
Metra reported that the crash had shut down all three main train lines. Two lines are now reopened.
The crash left no one injured, according to La Grange police. Following the impact, the train dragged the semi, causing damage to the train station building.

Officials said video footage showed a freight train colliding with a semi on Friday in La Grange.
For a few hours, BNSF line service was disrupted between Westmont and Berwyn.
“BNSF trains will not run from Fairview Ave. to Berwyn because a freight train collided with a vehicle. Trains will run from Chicago to Berwyn and Aurora via Fairview Avenue until further notice, according to Metra.
Trains resumed operations around 6:30 p.m.
Passengers were advised to take alternative transportation while the problem was being resolved.
No additional information about the freight train semi-crash was immediately available.
