The man suspected of robbing a bank in far northwest suburban Kildeer on Friday morning is in custody.
The FBI reported that the 56-year-old man robbed a Bank of America on Rand Road around 10:30 a.m.
According to investigators, he gave the teller a note implying that he had a gun, but he did not show it.
He made off with an unknown sum of money and drove away in a newer model GMC Acadia.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities said the suspect was apprehended shortly before 7:30 p.m. Friday during a traffic stop at the intersection of Route #31 and Alexandria Boulevard in McHenry City.
He was taken into federal custody without incident, and the stolen funds were recovered.
