Read SI to Launch of Dolly Parton Imagination Library at Kiddie Kollege

A familiar face will be traveling to Fairfield on July 10th, helping Read SI celebrate the launch of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library at Kiddie Kollege.

The beloved early literacy initiative, founded by country music legend Dolly Parton, provides free books every month to children from birth to age five, regardless of family income. The program’s goal is to foster a love of reading in young children and to ensure they have access to age-appropriate books during the most critical years of their development.

Read SI, a Southern Illinois-based literacy organization, has partnered with the Imagination Library to bring this powerful program to families in the Fairfield area. The launch event at Kiddie Kollege will include a special reading session, registration opportunities for parents and caregivers, and fun activities for children.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Imagination Library to our community,” said a Read SI spokesperson. “Reading aloud to children from a young age builds strong language skills and prepares them for success in school and in life. Thanks to Dolly Parton’s vision and support from local sponsors, we can now offer this life-changing program to families right here in Fairfield.”

Families who attend the event on July 10th will be able to sign up their children on-site. Once enrolled, each child will receive a carefully selected, high-quality book delivered directly to their home every month until they turn five—all at no cost to the family.

The launch is part of Read SI’s ongoing mission to increase early literacy rates across Southern Illinois. The organization hopes this new initiative will help spark a lifelong love of reading in the region’s youngest learners.
